︎ Single part with good printability
Working within the constraints of a single 3D-printed part, I wanted to create a lampshade with an interesting lighting effect. I used a Stratasys Fortus 250mc with a 10” x 10” x 12” build volume and white ABS filament to print a shade that consists of small hollow tubes with a random internal pattern and a regular external pattern. The interaction of the internal and external rods creates a macro-scale diffusion pattern with a subtle visual variation at each different viewing angle.
