I designed this desk specifically for small office use. It is slightly shallower than most desks but deep enough for comfortable use with a large monitor. The top surface is supported by truss slats that also align with and engage the legs. To achieve slim legs, I used two layers of plywood and aligned them with dowels. This desk is made of just four unique parts (top surface, 2x truss, 2x leg outer, 2x leg inner), wood glue, and wood dowel pins. I finished the assembly using a hardwax-oil wood finish. The total cost of materials for this design is $120.
